Lewis Waring - Lawyer

I didn’t grow up planning to be a lawyer. A younger me was more focused on music and philosophy and would probably be surprised to see me working as a construction litigator. The idea first took root in a dusty bookstore in Charlottetown, where the owner told me that law school had given him the practical skills he needed to run his shop.

He recommended it not for prestige, but for the tools it would provide—even if all I ever did was draft contracts for a small business. That perspective resonated with me and continues to guide my approach today.

I see law not as an abstract exercise, but as a tool to solve real problems. As a litigator, my goal is to help businesses resolve disputes efficiently so they can focus on building. I may not have opened my bookstore yet, but I remain drawn to both the theory behind contracts and case law, and the tangible ways the law can be used to deliver real results for clients.
